Born in Huntington, West Virginia, into a military family (his father was career Navy) George graduated from Huntington High School in 1959 and immediately enlisted in the U.S Air Force. He served as a computer systems operator and computer programmer for twenty-three years, retiring from active duty in 1982. He then worked for the Department of Defense as a systems analyst at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, until his retirement in 1994, at which time he joined Dynamics Research Corporation as a program manger.

 

George and his wife Lou Terry moved to Canoa Ranch in 2005 and are full time residents. George graduated in SAV Class 40, February 2007.  He spends most of his time car patrolling, doing Mall Patrol, working at the White Elephant, working special functions, and a member of the SAV Emergency Response Team (ERT). He is also a member of the SAV Honor Guard and a member of the SAV training staff. George was elected to the board in January 2008 and fills a two-year term.
