Green Valley Sheriff’s Auxiliary Volunteers

Credit card and debit card fraud continues to be reported to SAV in Green Valley, so residents should continue to keep their guard up.  On the bright side, there has been a recent decrease in the number of phony sweepstakes scams reported.  Still, remember that if someone wants to send you a very large amount of money after you first sent him some, be very, very suspicious.  Particularly if he or she requests that you wire the money immediately.  One thing is on the increase in Green Valley, and that’s lost or stolen wallets containing drivers’ licenses, credit cards, and other identification.  It’s often unclear to the person himself whether he has lost or misplaced the items, or whether they’ve been stolen.  SAV has been receiving an increasing number of these reports lately, so be extra sure to safeguard your wallets and know where they are at all times.  If you can’t find them after you’ve made a complete and thorough search, it’s probably best to cancel your credit cards and get new ones with new account numbers.  While your wallet may not have fallen into the hands of a crook or identity thief, you can’t count on it.  You’ll also need to get your driver’s license replaced as well as any other identification you keep in your wallet.  Rather than go through all this inconvenience, it’s much easier to keep track of your wallet in the first place.
