Green
Valley Sheriff’s Auxiliary Volunteers
Carol
Roskey
There was a rash of
vandalism in Amado Thursday night. The Sheriff’s Department and SAV received
numerous calls regarding spray painting on cars and garage doors. The vandals often used slang words and
references.
A Green Valley resident was harassed by a series of
telephone calls from a person representing to be a Credit Union in the
resident’s home state. The Green Valley
resident answered several questions until they were asked for their account
number. At that point the reporter hung
up. However, several more calls were
received before the caller stopped trying.
Remember to never give out account number over the telephone and do as
this resident did—hang up.

Another Green Valley resident was contacted by a
financial services company for payment of the purchase of some electronic
equipment. After our caller said he had
purchased no such equipment, the company advised our caller that his social
security number had been used to purchase the equipment. He was advised to file a police report. Remember to always protect your social security
number and to keep your card in a safe place.
