Green Valley Sheriff’s Auxiliary Volunteers

An agent on horse patrol who was chasing UDAs in the vicinity of Elephant Head lost his GPS system when the lanyard broke.  A through search of the area later did not yield the GPS unit.  The price of the GPS unit was $246 and does have a property code on it.

A local Green Valley Water Company had some brass plates and copper tubing stolen from a warehouse.  The estimate of the value of the items was $8,000.  There was no evidence of a break-in so it could have been a past or present employee.

A Green Valley woman was contacted by Wells Fargo’s Fraud Department about three transactions made on her check card.  The charges were all made on May 6, 2008.  The card’s owner vaguely remembered leaving her card in a store after making a purchase.  The owner cancelled the card.

Bees are wonderful insects that pollinate the plants.  However, many bees today are Africanized and may be dangerous.  If a swarm of bees has stung people, the Green Valley Fire Department will remove them.  Unless a swarm is building a hive, it may just move on if ignored.   One swarm was seen recently at the Safeway store and another was building a hive in a person’s home. Enjoy the bees from a distance and appreciate their great work but don’t interfere with their activities.
